How to Become Happy?
Right now, I’m building a new website and started feeling a bit confused.
Tuljo went with the kids to the mountains to fetch water, and I thought that to bring some clarity to my mind, I’ll just sit on the bed, close my eyes, and try to visualize my future.
Actually, I already wrote a question to ChatGPT yesterday.
I’m turning a new page in my life — I’ve moved with my family to a new country.
My greatest wish is to be truly happy and to feel free from limitations and old patterns — to be free.
How can I achieve that?
And how do I understand what truly makes me happy?
It replied to me:
🌱 1. Pause and listen – before you act
Freedom doesn’t necessarily mean doing a lot right away.
It also means silence and space within.
Ask yourself:
• “If nothing had defined me up until now, who would I be?”
• “If all expectations disappeared, what would I truly do first thing in the morning?”
Don’t answer these in your head, but in writing or silence — that’s how you go deeper.
💡 2. Learn to distinguish between “satisfaction” and “happiness”
Many confuse comfort (a sense of safety) with real happiness (inner freedom and meaning).
Ask:
• Am I doing something because it calms my anxiety, or because it brings me to life?
🔥 3. Track your energy, not just emotions
True happiness is often connected to energy.
Think:
• What thoughts make my eyes light up?
• What makes me feel fulfilled, even when I’m tired?
• During which activities does time disappear?
• These may not yet be “your path,” but they point you in the right direction.
If something sparks excitement, curiosity, or even a little fear inside you — it might be a guide.
These questions helped me gain a bit of clarity.
Last night, I was reflecting on what kind of activity actually causes anxiety in my heart.
What is it that I truly want to do?
What makes my eyes shine?
What are the things I do with real enthusiasm?
What came to the surface were journalism, writing, and event organizing.
Without a doubt, I’ve always liked organizing things.
That excitement and nervousness before a big event — that’s what makes me feel alive.
From the journalism side, it’s about sharing stories of amazing people who’ve done great things.
It’s so lovely and so cool — and at the same time, sharing not just inspiration but also helpful and motivating articles that genuinely help someone.
Right now, it feels like these are definitely the topics of my soul.
And continuing to reflect on this, I realized today what happiness means to me.
In what state would I be happy?
It’s exactly this: knowing what my soul topics are and what I want to do professionally — that brought me clarity about happiness.
Happiness, to me, is when I no longer have to search for that clarity.
I don’t have to figure it all out anymore.
Happiness is simply knowing what I want,
and knowing that I want to be peacefully together with my family.
I don’t have to keep overthinking or constantly worry about the future —
I can just focus on the things I enjoy.
I don’t have to stress.
I can simply be free.
To spend peaceful time in our future adorable little mountain cabin, surrounded by nature,
enjoying every moment and every day with my family.
To have the time to dedicate more of myself to my children,
so that we can all create memories together and truly be present.
So that I no longer have to figure out what will happen next.
That, right now, would be happiness for me —
that I have clarity in other areas of life,
which gives me the freedom to focus on my family and enjoying the present.
I don’t know if this all makes logical sense,
but today, while reflecting, this just sort of came to me —
and now it seems like this reflection has given me some sort of clarity.
And from that clarity, I can start to develop a plan.
And to be honest,
I wrote this down purely for myself,
so I could come back to it later if I ever lose focus.
But I also thought — maybe someone else might find guidance in this too.
How is your life going right now?
Is your focus clear?
